How I Installed Craftsman Style Wainscoting In My Mudroom

While remodeling our house, I really wanted the feel of a Craftsman Style house. I decided to dress up the mudroom and half bath with Wainscoting.

Nice job.Only thing I may have done was cut some kind of profile on the end of the cap where it extends over the jamb instead of leaving it square.

I tried several test pieces, i considered putting a small cove in the top cap, I also considered puting a small piece of trim in the rectangles of the wainscoting. After going back and forth, the wife and I decided we really liked the square edge at top since we had the cove and halfround directly below it. This is now caried out throughout our house on all windows and doors as well.

Thank you so much for watching and commenting!!

I have three paslodes, the straight and angled finish and the framing gun, and as much as i LOVE them, the are definately finicky, especially on a cold day!!!! But it's worth the frustration to not have to drag out a compressor and pull a hose around a house!!

Thanks for the video. Usually I use pocket hole joinery and build a whole section on the bench, then install. You made quick work of it with the biscuit joiner. Seemed to be a pretty efficient method.

Nice work. I have seen a previous post with you mod of the hollow core door as well.

Your video editing is should be complimented. You don't dwell on the redundant which is a huge failure for many short videos in the youtube space.

Thanks for watching again. I really appreciate your comment, i really try to not be redundant. I find my self constantly skipping through most videos to speed them up and I really don't want people doing that to my videos.

Thanks again!!

I agree. The videos are well within my attention span which is a rarity on youtube.
