Custom Maple Trim

Ok, soft maple that is being painted.

I started all of this on Monday. Did a bunch of planing and dimensioning on Monday, cut rough sizes, ripped, joined and shaped on Tuesday.

Cut the rest of the parts, sized trim to final dimensions, assembled and sanded on Wednesday. Today I planed and dimensioned all the parts for a pair of custom corner columns/built in things.

I thought I was making great time but, I have been pestered by the HO to the point that I want to throw it in a corner and put them on the bottom of my list.

Some people need to learn some patience.

I clean up like every day, it does not seem to get any better though.

I have so much assembled trim in there that I can barely move around.

Got to get stuff primed and painted tomorrow so I can start loading it up in the trailer for a Monday delivery and install.

It does not help that the last 16' is being used for machine storage and rebuilding.

I just collect tins and signs, I don't do any drinking.

I hear you there, 1300 sq ft on my machining side gets squeezed pretty tight if you start putting finished projects in there. That is why I have the other 1300 sq ft for raw materials and finished product.

Re: Custom Maple Trim

I got the columns all done today. I think I am going to call them a corner hutch though.

Everything is ready for some Bin shellac and paint.

I will get some more pictures as I lay everything out for priming.

Re: Custom Maple Trim

Zinsser Sealcoat Shellac is what you need if you are using Shellac. What you are using is BIN primer which is shellac based. And of course it is dewaxed because it in meant to have paint put over it.

I will deal with what I can get locally for now. I don't feel like driving 45 minutes to get supplies.

I can use a high density roller and get a finish that looks darn close to sprayed on. I didn't get around to buying that pressure pot and gun yet. Damn kids needing diapers and food.
