IS It Worthwhile To Make Posts And Pics On Google Page?

I used to have a quite favorable presence on Google, but as of the past month or so, my listing has fallen drastically. Whatever worked, doesn't seem to work so much.

Anyways, I once read how Google likes photos, so I have started to ad photos and posts on my google business page. Will this help out any? I know it can't hurt, so will continue to do so.

I am just curious to know, from those, who are familiar with the way Google works, if this will have any effect.

I'm not an expert by any means (not even novice), but I attended a Builder's meeting about online marketing, and they stated that the most effective method of posting pictures online to your webpage was to rename your photos using relevant terms.
Ie : you post a deck picture with the filename "deck 'city' 'company'... And then add any other relevant info. Adding comments on the photo is supposed to help as well.
Maybe one of the experts can step in here... I've got nothing else to add.

Here is a quick summary, from Google, that helps answers

https://support.google.com/business/answer/7091?hl=en

it doesn't specifically tell you how many and when, so I would just add one or two good new pictures every so often to show movement.

Having really compelling photos will definitely help your conversion rate. Turning viewers into website visitors or callers. Getting more reviews is just as important, if not more so. I wouldn't spend my time on G+ though.

A good option to improve your all around local search presence is BrightLocal's local citation service. I think it's about $100 a year.

I used to have some good comparable services for free but those are long gone and I will say that BrightLocal is more comprehensive and saves several hours, at a minimum.

I've noticed just from my own experience that Google seems to favor it's Google+ pages over pretty much everything else, so I'd recommend at least keeping your page updated. It also shows up as a "local" result when people search for your company, which I'm assuming is based on keywords you put in your G+ profile. Coupled with some favorable reviews, you can look pretty good for Google local search results.

With this in mind, more than pics I think I would focus on trying to get customers to post reviews of their experience with you, with testimonials. If you get one ask, that's the one I would focus on.
