Re: Rodney Webb

I've been forced to sit thru his videos...As a veteran sales pro, this guy is a charlatan at worse, and a good salesman whose best sale is to the contractors who pay a lot of money for his sales training at best. Does anyone ever say to themselves " If some salesman laid this crap on me, would I buy right then ?" I asked myself that, & my answer was that I'd throw this guy out of my house. I want an honest & reliable company doing my work & I'm not going to make a decision because a salesman throws a bunch of slaes pitches, discounts for signing NOW & throwing a reference list at me. I'm going to look at the quality of the product, the reliability of the company to stand behind the product's performance & lastly, the price. And no salesman is going to corner me into buying NOW because that's what HE wants. His videos teach potential salesmen to have ZERO respect for the customer. Just let me dazzle you & give me your money. No matter if you cancel tomorrow. I can still say I "made the sale"...I am excellent at selling, & the first thing I do is tell people I am their advocate, ask them to truthfully share with me their needs & I promise to not give any BS & I promise to figure out a way to make the situation work for them. The rest of the meeting is "we", not me versus them...I am one of the highest selling salespeople in my profession & make a lot of money by ignoring people like Rodney Webb. I find solutions, not follow sales scripts.

Re: Rodney Webb

I know I’m late to this thread but I have to agree with Sam Gordon. The whole system is about ramming it down customers throats until they say yes (and just hope they don’t cancel after they sign) or uncomfortably, basically, kick you out of their house. In all reality this system is all about creating turnkey, pitchy salesmen out of people who have 0 sales experience or sales talent whatsoever. I’ve worked where I had to use Rodney’s system and where I don’t and even when I was supposed to use his system, most of the time I broke away at some point. The simple matter of fact is that I generate WAY MORE sales, not using his system and have way happier and much more pleasant customer experiences by avoiding almost everything his system says to do. He did revolutionize the estimating and inspecting aspect of the home remodeling trades in a positive way though; just the sales/closing side of it is bad...there is no “keep the pressure in the middle” as he says. I ran his system on so many family members and friends to get their opinion and they all said they’d never go with someone who came into their house and tried to CLOSE THE SALE the way he wants you to. Everything is pretty smooth right up until the end.
