Negative Comments On Facebook Boosted Post

So I decided to boost a post in an attempt to create some business. I posted before and after pics and so far 4 people have commented they like the old door better. One added that the new door looked cheap and another said some people have nothing better to do than waste their money. I've politely responded to two of them, but not sure if I should waste my time responding and just delete the negative comments.

I don't do social media, but I like the idea of just deleting them since they're not valuable contributions to your cause.

The answer depends on how you want to represent youself. If it's a good setup for a professional response that helps make you likeable, go for it.

Re: Negative Comments On Facebook Boosted Post

People find negative (and a lot of times idiotic) things to say no matter what. There is a company selling beef jerky, some pretty amazing beef jerky, and one guy started a bitchfest that must have had 10 comments because they didn't display the nutritional facts on the first page.....you had to click on the picture to get to the back of the bag where it is. People are morons.

I agree if someone is making a comment that has no merit and just being an ass then I'd delete it but be aware that they can comment on you deleting their comment and start more trouble. Being able to professionally respond to a comment and build on your company would be great but that isn't always possible.
Perhaps if the first 4 comments are able to pick on the job that much you should have chosen a better picture??

"Before" pics are over-rated. Just post the new stuff.

Sorry took me a bit to resize the pics. One of my mistakes may be using my older crappy phone instead of my camera. I need to keep it in the van. Here's what I wrote in the post
"Goodbye 90's. Removed this outdated entry system with oval insert and brass leaded glass. It was replaced with Masonite Vista Grande fiberglass door and sidelites with Chord glass."

Re: Negative Comments On Facebook Boosted Post

That first pic is a good one. It creates interest and also give one that "professionally installed" warm and fuzzy. I think I'd stick to close up's like that.

Maybe a few pics of the handling of the window and your tool set-up, but only if they look great. I'm thinking along the lines of SuperSeal and Cali's pics, though I don't think I'd show an unfinished door opening in your case. Just my 2 cents.

Looks great, a very nice update the front of the house. Those oval glass insert doors have been around since.......I don't even know.

I like before pictures, shows that YOU actually did the work and in some of the cases where the old door is in disrepair there is a certain wow factor added.

To the guy that liked the old door better, you could tell him to contact you for an estimate to install the old one in his house.

I've been in the door business mostly, sonce 86. I disliked those oval inserts even back then. I did mention that I didn't take the old door to the dump and that I dropped it off at a flea market, if they wanted it.

Re: Negative Comments On Facebook Boosted Post

When you put something out there, and leave it open for comments and people respond in a way you don't like, and then you delete it, it plays into the whole "you only like comments that make you look good" meme...

Better to post it and set it for no comments (if available) than playing into that meme which would be harder to counteract...

Re: Negative Comments On Facebook Boosted Post

Link - well everything looked odd. Realized it was a mobile link, and I'm viewing from a laptop.

https://www.facebook.com/EagleDoorService/

People are gonna say the first stupid thing that pops into their heads. Let them.

Hide the actual negative stuff, and let the rest fly - unless you can springboard off of it and use it to help pitch a sale.

The crap about they liked the old door better? Next time pop an inset of the damaged/worn areas of the old door into the main pic. Shuts 'em up.

Hell, there are still people pining for wagon wheel dining room light fixtures. Yet Bonanza has been off the air for nearly 60 years.

Some people just plain suck! Solid looking install! I love the comment you posted about being able to buy the used door from the flea market if they loved it so much!!

I think it looks nice.

Facebook gives a voice to tons of morons that were never your clients in the first place.

Ignore the haters.

You have to narrow your demographics...people older then 32, have interests that align with home decor, remodeling, real estate, income, education, towns that surround you....
