If you buy gas, lunch, and materials I still don't think I'd do it for 7k

I'm not crazy about the installation. Really involved to do it right especially with hidden fasteners. You have to get a premium plus the goods are way more. I've seen some bad installs that look like a damn roller coaster.

What if the finished "patio" deck has the high end over 36" above grade, Who pays for the handrails to meet code?

If it's just one side I prefer an art deco panel with maybe a Picasso or Salvadore Dali flair to it

Re: Need Deck Estimate Input

There's one up the road I'm waiting on. She stopped by the house last year and asked me about doing it. She said she was buying the house and when she sold her other house she would call me. I followed up once but I don't want to be a pest so I watch her house on Zillow to see when she sells. Well she did and took it on the chin about 35k less than original price.

I pass by everyday on my way out she still has the same crappy deck that's basically unsafe and unusable. She must have some well to do friends as there are luxury autos there from time to time and I'm thinking aren't you embarrassed by that crappy deck?

She had a new roof put on and some other remodeling but I think this was gratis by "friends" but nobody will touch the deck. I'm ready to give up on that one IDK. It'd be a great job...close, plus you can drive right up to it in any weather and about 4.5 ft off the ground....doesn't get any better

CaliDecks: Aren't you worried about "grade" inflation out on the West Coast ?

Did Obama really have a 4.25 GPA?
