I wouldn't post other local businesses, competition or not you don't want them leaving your page. You want to get them to your website or the like.

Good, I thought of posting one similar but more to the negative aspect.

In past experiences, what have you disliked most when dealing with a contractor?

Does not return calls promptly
Lack of quality and care
Cleanliness while on your property
Bait & Switch techniques
1 or 2 other options

I thought I could spark negative thoughts and have good answers ready as the horror stories rolled in. Might not be a good idea to be associated with negativity but I thought people would passionately tell their tales. Hopefully, I could heal a few wounds along the way.

The posts are on my personal page. I already heavily market my biz page on my personal page. I'm toeing the line as is. This is a different way to gain access to other networks of users who might need my services. I want those people I've never met clicking on my links.

Re: If You're Not On Facebook, You Should Be.

I personally would not do the negative thing but im no expert. We all know people don't like bad contractors and there tactics.
What you should focus your polling on is market research. Like what room would you remodel , what's the most important value a contractor can have. Ect ect this will allow you to see your market and what people are really thinking.

Yea, it's a more positive approach, that's for sure. I might do:

Money being no object, what's the one home renovation project you would love to do?

New roof
Upgrade siding
Kitchen overhaul
Room addition
Renovate a bathroom
Finish the basement
Hardwood Floors
Other

Hopefully most will answer Hardwood Flooring lol.

I might start polling my family and friends. Sounds like a good idea.

Sorry folks, I've been a bit slow liking all the new members. I just went through the list.
There are still a few broken links (sorry I had so many to like, I did not keep track of the broken ones). Each person should check their own links as I think it is too much work for one or two mods to do.

Also, I think your address should be on the front of your page, some I had to look pretty hard to find out where you are located....just my opinion.

(damn, that took a long time)

I've done this, but didn't get much in the way of reciprocation

Nevertheless, I will still occasionally plug a page or other business

I went through the list and liked you all. Sorry I've been so slack on reciprocating. I almost cried though, because I made it all the way through part 1 and then thought I was "liking" as my company, not my personal page. Thankfully, I was doing it as my personal, so all of your numbers should have gone up by 1. Thanks for the reminder Matt!

And it's All for FREE! But wait, there's more. As an added bonus, Facebook ranks highly on Google and all of the top search engines. You can mark your business page as Public, and the search engines will pick up on your content which the search engines see as keywords. Then every once in awhile throw a link to your website up and Facebook will submit all of the content from your web page to the search engines and that post will also give you a back link to you website which the search engines score highly on their website ranking list.

Re: If You're Not On Facebook, You Should Be.

I was trying to "like" back, but Matt brought to my attention that not every person that gave a "like" is listed. I plan on going through the list someday, but not right now.
Besides that, some people don't have their about me (with business link) on their personal page for everyone to see. So, I can't link to your business page to "like" it. I got most of you. If I missed, then let me know.
