I Gave In

Ok, ok, I am finally getting into the 21st century. Just for your amusement I'm letting you know that today I ordered my web site construction.

It's really just so I can post pictures of my work for clients to see.

Aaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrgggggg More technology to deal with.

My designer is the son of a fellow contractor. He does this for a living. My buddys' web site if you want to have a look see is - aspengroveltd.on.ca

My site will be similar in design. Not a copy though.

your buddy aint joking with the fine print on his site

thats super fine print. Im sure it says somewhere in there that if you sign you are contractually obligated to give him 1 million dollars.

Don't have a landing page. Those went out of style in 2003 once everyone realized it's annoying to have to click to enter a site.

Hasn't disappeared for me. I still have six rolls of polaroid film stored in my frig. I break it out every once and a while for company. I'm very retro cool.

My polaroid portfolio is a big hit.

You mean like a page where fireworks go off and it says "click here to skip the advertisement and go to the website where I will totally bombard you with more advertising"?

Yeah, I hate that

Re: I Gave In

Way to go!

You would be amazed how cool a simple ONE page website can be. It depends on the company. You and I have a similar situation because we don't need a website to get work but we both feel it could add value to our business. I would keep it clean and don't have any fluff. Judging by your posts here on the forum I suspect it will be that way anyhow.

Hey, don't feel bad. I still have my old rotary phone....just can't seem to let it go.

I always hated it when you got half way into dialing the number and you can't remember if your dialing the right number (because no LCD screen to tell you) so you would have to press the two clear buttons down for a few seconds and wait for the all clear dial tone.....then start dialing, all the while waiting for it to return on each number.

I tell ya though......then phones were built like a brick shi# house.

Re: I Gave In

Mike - Ssshhhhhh, but my first mobile phone was huge and when you went to make a call there were maybe two or three of you on at the same time and you'd have to fight to get the operator to take your call.

Thinking.............. 1982. Yep, that was the turning point.
