Yesterday, a phone book guy called to schedule a time to re-sign up. I know, that the book is a dying breed, but, it's not completely dead, and is a good opportunity as the competitors are re-focusing their advertising dollar.
In our book, there were a whole gang of heating contractors. I decided to list the business under furnace repair, and, at least this year, the ad paid for itself.
While everybody is beating each other up to be on page one of google, there are some other venues that are worth seeking.
Honestly I do also. I know I am getting old and all, but it's easier to pick up the book (when it's in view, I can't find S___t when it's hidden behind something) and open the yellow pages, as opposed to googling something such as upholstery. Not only that, it's easier to read all the choices as opposed to just the ten names on the first page of google.
I just looked at the Impact directory book, and there was only a 6" column of names for carpenters and kitchen remodel contractors. Still a whole gang of plumbers, but, again, only a small number of water heater repair specialists. I just thought it was worth noting at this site.
Hey a big segment of our market is baby boomers. I am not saying they don't use computers and/or google, but, they are also likely to keep their land lines.
