Draftsight And Adobe Acrobat DC

Hello all,

I'm trying to load a Draftsight 2017 .dwg drawing into Adobe Acrobat DC so that I can create a PDF file that has clickable layers, but Acrobat says "not a supported file type or damaged file". If Acrobat does not work with Draftsight, what other program can be used to accomplish the mission. Thanks.

Re: Draftsight And Adobe Acrobat DC

Did you try saving the Draftsight drawing as a .pdf?

Adobe will only read .pdf files.

Re: Draftsight And Adobe Acrobat DC

There are various software platforms that can convert DWGs to PDFs. A lot of them offer free trials.

Draftsight references their export to PDFs as a raster conversion (not vector) and that could be end up being an issue even if you get Acrobat DC to import it successfully.

I just did a quick conversion attempt on two DWG files I had and Acrobat was only able to convert one successfully to a PDF.
