Certificate Renewed Without Refresher Course?

I tried to get a head start on the renewal process so I applied with EPA online. I had received a letter from them stating I should reapply at least 90 days prior to expiration to avoid any possible lapse in coverage. I figured I could easily schedule a class more towards my expiration date that isn't until June. Well, I just received a new certificate good through 2020 stating I have completed all the required blah blah blah.
I haven't done the refresher course.
Has anyone else had this happen? I'm curious whether I even need to spend the time/money on the refresher course now.

I've taken the class-refresher, but not filed with stated for renewal.

In Massachusetts we don't need the epa-certificate this time around.

But I would say it's all about the check you wrote to them. that's All that matters..

I just took the refresher on Tues.
The company told they would handle all the paperwork.

After finding my stray brain cells.......this makes perfect sense. The EPA certificate is for my firm/business. And yes, I still need to take the refresher course since I am the certified renovator on site.....I remember now how that works
I've just avoided this type of work for the last 5 years, really only renewing these just in case......

Re: Certificate Renewed Without Refresher Course?

Took my refresher course , was pretty easy 4 hour class costing 125.00. I also read where now one will be able to do a online refresher class, but it will only be good for 3 years instead of 5yrs. My first time was in Feb of 10 allowing me to put in off until now to renew.

Any of the rest of you renewing?

Did the 4 hour refresher and actually had to be trained to operate a swiffer! Use the leading edge and do a proper zig zag. Thought I would be judged like a figure skater! My o My o My glad to see my 140.00 not wasted!

And every other time you do the refresher course, will still have to be in person.
I still have a couple months before I need to do it. Going to have to decide whether or not to do it online or not this time. If I do it in person for the 5 years, that'll probably get me to the point that I won't even bother with any of it anymore after that.

Pretty much thinking this will be my late time doing it, just need to get busy and do EPA side of it now, for 300.00😡

More then likely not. But is not a reason for me to not try and do what is right.

I get it, I'm certified, but I pass on older houses. Anytime you sign your name to paperwork, it might come back to bite you in the ass, even if you follow the RRP proper procedures to a T

Re: Certificate Renewed Without Refresher Course?

Yes they allow the company RRP certification to be renewed without providing the individual jobsite supervisor certification renewals.

But your company RRP certification does not mean a whole lot in practical terms unless you have actively certified RRP individuals to work at your jobsites.
