What Are You Wearing On Your Feet?

I am super picky when it comes to boots, I've tossed out tons of them that ended up being terrible.

The best ones I've found for what I do is a military style boot, Belleville 615. They break in well, last reasonably well (2-3 years per pair), and the flatter less aggressive sole was a good compromise for dirt work and being on concrete.

So naturally they were discontinued.

Thinking of getting Thorogood 1957s with the wedge sole, could be a little more dangerous in the dirt, but would be better for comfort and for finishing, not a fan of speed laces at all though (they never stay on the hooks for me).

What are you guys wearing, and how are they holding up. I can't have anything that's too aggressive or with a heel.

Re: What Are You Wearing On Your Feet?

I'm currently wearing the Thorogood 814-4200 and the Danner Bull Run.

They are similar but different in subtle ways. No complaints with either.

I ordered these ones.

I hope they have a decent service life, they are expensive.

I'm spoiled I think, those military boots that I bought and are no longer made were only $100 when I bought them, and got 2-3 years each out of them. I ordered 3 pair and stashed them.

I wear Blundstones. Greenpatch I think they are called.

Love the no laces slip on.

Is the wedge sole ok in mud? Iíve avoided them assuming they would be slippery working outside

I had some of the Carolina ones years ago that were slick as snot in the mud, but they were more of a flat sole, they had no tread at all to them.

So hopefully I don't get stuck down in a footer hole because I have no traction to get out.

Couldn't really beat them for finishing floors though, they left no marks.

And also these waterproof too:

Between the Ariat's and the Skecher's, Ariat wins for being more comfortable.

Re: What Are You Wearing On Your Feet?

My previous pair of boots were some kind of Danner's.
Don't remember the model. They were expensive. They were comfortable. They fell apart way too fast. Overpriced IMO.

In the past, I've gotten good use out of Carolina boots and never regretted paying the asking price. Current pair is Carolina CA8028. Still breaking them in but so far, so good.

For truckazz duty, I wear some mid height columbia hikers. They feel like sneakers but have some tread for the job site. I like columbia foot wear for light duty stuff. Seems they are narrow though. Even the wide widths. Maybe my feet are getting bigger as I get older?

Re: What Are You Wearing On Your Feet?

My feet are pretty wide. Keen, Danner and the cheap Wolverines are the only boots that really fit. Just remembered, 50 dollar Western Chiefs as well.

Most boots give me a foot cramp before I even get my foot all the way in.

Boot shopping sucks for me. Wearing Danners now. Expensive but comfortable.

Re: What Are You Wearing On Your Feet?

I just tried on a pair of Thorogood and really liked them especially how soft the leather is. Only problem is that they hurt the top of my feet. Seems like where the stiching is on the top rubs the upperpart of my feet. My question is, will they break in or are my feet just to fat? I did try on the wide version.

I have the same problem with certain boots and the breakin for me. But it gets quite painful for a short time.

Under Armour very light weight.

For heavier stuff I wear Redwing Irish Setter. Ultra waterproof.

For concrete pour days I wear these.

Skinny feet aren't any fun either. Very few companies make narrow widths.

Worst boots I had were loose in the heel. Every step would pull my socks down a little until they were all bunched up in the toe of my boot.

Annoying as hell.

Just looked. Danner Vicious boots. Very comfortable with a short if any break in period.

Red Wings with custom sole insert, can reliably wear them up to twelve hours a day and my feet don't get tired.
