Re: What Would You Go Do?

good question.

i've had a number of careers. started out in restaurants and worked that for some twenty years. went to chiropractic school got a degree and licenses in three states but really did not enjoy it.

became a computer programmer but truth be told, i really sucked.

started a contractor/handyman biz which i still currently do. nice work, but never make the money i should 'cause i'm lousy at business.

my true talent is writing. all my life i've been told by teachers, friends, etc. how well i write. several writing teachers have asked me how i could write a sentence like: "The hot light tossed and stretched his shadow before him." can't say how, but i like the rhythm and imagery of the words.

i have a screenplay that's 80 percent completed but haven't the motivation to work on it. i don't pretend that it would sell, but before i drop dead, i'd like to finish it.

We had a third person talker guy around here for awhile. He wrote pretty well too.

Until he was executed.

Re: What Would You Go Do?

I got into the construction business because.. I always wanted to be my own man. Never punch a damn time clock. and own my own business so if I want to load the boat and camper..I CAN! i dont have to put in for vacation, or worry if i have sick leave left. I saw my dad work a 8-4 job his whole life. yeah he had security paid holidays the best insurance and all it was a state job. He kissed my butt to come on with him. Nope i like what i got yeah its a pain and just about zero security. Ill take it!

Coaching football would be cool.
I put several years in at the Pop Warner level and enjoyed it. I just couldn't keep up with the time requirement.
Always thought it would be fun to get to the high school level.
Maybe someday, who knows?
