It doesn't make financial sense for me to have a plow operation up here. The average annual snowfall is ony 50 inches.

The liability insurance for a snow removal contractor operation costs $9,000 for a decent level of coverage running from October through April. That's with 2 million dollars in liability (slip and fall), equipment coverage, and additional workmans comp on myself. If I'm going to be out in the middle of a storm and responsible for every slip and fall on a property I'm contracted to maintain I want to be covered.

I'd need at least 1 more truck to cover the route incase of breakdowns, so there's another vehicle to insure.

Snowplowing equipment, salt, etc, isn't cheap. It's also real hard on trucks.

There are guys that plow up here, but all the ones I've talked to said they don't carry insurance and work on a cash basis. For me it's not worth the risk. Both financially and the image of my landscaping company.

I keep busy in the off season by going to school. I'm getting a BS in HVAC and Appliance Repair and taking a Electricians Apprenticeship class 2 nights a week.

Well, its like my granpa used to say, "Pull yer pants up boy. Its bad enough the neighbors heard you crying like you fell in the pig pen. They don't have to know you was crying cause you got your butt busted."

Good job in contacting your client. Now, get that other junk done and get yer fanny over there. She ain't gonna stay happy long. Or even quiet.

Score one for you and team CT.

It takes good sound character to take a stoning like that and hear it as good advise.
You still need to see it through but my hat is off to you.
