Water In Buildings

Recently,in FHB there was a review for a book with the above title. The review was in favor of the book. The book is not cheap at $ 100 I popped for it and thought it was worth the price of admission. Lets face it,our buildings are just one huge water management project !

Re: Water In Buildings

Thanks for that.

Looks quite interesting. I wonder how much would be applicable to those of us who build mostly Prescriptive Residential buildings?

Actually, there are many endings, chapter by chapter the author covers water intrusion from bulk water to vapor diffusion. A good starting point would be to view the table of contents. If you are still on the fence, what I usually do is try and get my library to secure a copy on inter-library loan. If it strikes a cord, one can decide if it is worthy of shelf space in your library. The review in FHB was convincing enough for me to pick up a copy. I will see if I can pull up that review.

An old teacher I had always used to say that something like 80% of problems with buildings were moisture related.

Re: Water In Buildings

Talking about water in buildings, this is interesting, would love to find something like this that was battery operated and able to transmit to a relay to the phone, we have a property in the boondocks that has a long (300') run from the meter to where electricity is.

This could be a case for a smallish solar panel, battery, and inverter.
