Re: Tools Stolen, Truck Nearly Destroyed.

Good news fellas, Erie Insurance is gonna actually put a smile on my face.

The total loss amount was $12,969. I had receipts for about 70%. They took my notarized statement as proof of ownership on the other 30%.
After their depreciation it drops to $11,737.00.

Tax is 10.25% or $1203.04 for a total of $12,940.04 less my $500 policy deductible.

A net check was sent to me for $12,440.04.

If you don’t have an inland marine policy on your tools, GET ONE!

They won’t start fixing the truck til next week, hope it goes as smooth.

That’s great to hear your insurance is covering most of it!

Still sucks you have to go shopping to replace all of it however at least you get some new stuff out of it right?

Yep, I hate new ladders, hard to get used to them. But, Sherwin Williams has a ladder sale on now.

My thoughts concurred with Michaeljp86,I just didn't post them. What my thoughts are and possibly Michael's refer to are not the exit of the city but the part you live in. By that I mean,I know the city well, was born and raised there. Having said that, the area you are living in is filled with mid-rise and high rise buildings, does not seem like a place where the bulk of your work is (could be wrong). So,your truck was broken into, you found a building to park it in,60 blocks away. In the mean time, your living in the high rent district, traveling to get truck (possibly in opposite direction jobs are in) Best bet,get out of high rent area, find a place to live, and park, all the while closer to your market. It sounds like a win win situation to me. Unless, you are enamored by the glitz and glamour of the high rent district or..........you were told this is where we need to be 'cause it is convenient.......for me.

Boy,I can be good at stirring the pot.

Re: Tools Stolen, Truck Nearly Destroyed.

Basically OP have heavily armored truck and again get tools stolen from him. I would not live in that place for sure. However it is enough for me to hear what theirs major talk and what theirs police post that is clear to me I have nothing to do there. Plus been born in bloody Balkans I know read messages behind messages (like anyone from there) at several level deep, no Chicago for me.
