Tolko O.S.B.

Can anyone tell me how the quality is of the 4x9 x 7/16" O.S.B.
I normally use either LP, GP, or Weyerhauser but my supplier is struggling to find enough so he is trying to sell me Tolko. With never having used this product before, I'm a little hesitant to order the 10 to 11 semi loads that I need.

Thanks, Steven

They didn't have a sample for you to look at and compare?

OSB is a commodity. As long as certified by APA, Engineered Wood Association, you are good to go. I sell what it competitive at the time and has all necessary ratings, Exposure 1, 32/16 span rating etc. Are you using this on walls and roof?

I am using this on walls in a 6 story apartment complex so it will be exposed to the elements for a number of weeks.
In the past I've had some suppliers send me Norboard or Roy Martin and that is nothing but junk in my opinion. It will swell up a lot quicker and has rough edges that will give splinters by just looking at it !

Yes they can get something to me but not in the timeframe needed to place the order and still hold the price for me.

Re: Tolko O.S.B.

I like Lumberrep jumping in and asking if the 9' sheets are to be used on the roof. Yes, of course they are - I frame all my roofs on 21.6" centers.

I know I'm being a dick, but I wouldn't deal with a lumber supplier that is stupid enough to ask that question.

Maybe 4 x 9 was a typo.

Oh I know. As soon as he said 9' sheets I knew that they were for the walls. I could've been wrong, but the odds were against it.

Re: Tolko O.S.B.

Tolko ice cream is delicious. Comes straight from Japan so it's a little more expensive but well worth it.

Seriously though, I've used thousands of pieces of Tolko osb and never had any call backs or issues. And it gets pretty wet in the winter where I live. 50-80" of rain per year
