last minute Taxes? spending/buying decisions for possible tax deductions? Delay or accelerate Accounts receivable/payable to lower/delay this year taxes....

Check out payroll rates/ insurance bids.
Autopsy the year's business.....

Hire or fire?

A day with few interruptions is priceless.

No trowel time.

Work will be the last thing on my mind for that four days, and I'm taking off the following week to work on the shop and some paperwork guys are all off for 10 straight

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

We are the same as John's crew. Last official work day is the 22nd and back at it on the 2nd.

That being said, I'm gutting my hall bathroom, and the two leads also have house's they live in and are flipping, so we will all be working and some of the other guys might be helping us out but nothing required.

I was pissed I had to work this week.

It'll be a cold day in hell before I even consider doing anything more laborious than making hot chocolate on Christmas.

You won't look back

There are almost always reasons to work the week between, but for the last 10 years the week is scheduled off for everyone, guys paid on comp time or vacation, their choice

We have been where overanalyze is with projects started in the fall or winter, and used to cancel the week off because of it, but now we tell the customer when we start what the holiday schedule is, from October on there is usually someone doing weekend work for the comp time, and most customers have put up with the week off graciously

Re: So, Who Is Working Monday The 25th?

I worked 350 days a year plus for five years or so, and that is not a b******* exaggeration, I am not sorry for it but this is what I worked for. If I lose what I have earned I will not go back to my old ways until my kids don't want to hang out with me. Lol glad I did what I did when I did though, not just say I have made it or anything like that

Our client would be ok if I told them we are taking the week off. Great people. I just know the schedule.

Most years the schedule is pretty light this time of year. We won't start an occupied remodel after Thanksgiving unless the client is 100% sure they don't care. That and I am a bit of a scrooge...love family (well most of the fam ) and food...could care less for all the b.s. the holidays bring.

Yeah...the push and the goal is the drug. The more difficult and more moving parts the more I am interested.
