I did a spiral staircase for a rooftop deck a couple years ago. It was one heck of a view, the house was one of the first ones up in the air

Finished sanding today and got the conditioner and first coat of stain on, minwax cherry. Probably 3 more coats to get the desired color

That's what was used on all the doors, so I stayed with it so I wouldn't have to mess around with matching a different brand

I understand. I've done the same. But then I got smart and I had my guy match the MinWax color in WoodSong II stain.

Came out to light. Then I asked him to take a look at it. I could have fixed it with a toner coat. But he loved the color which saved me a lot of work.
