Nominations: ContractorTalk.com - The Best Of 2008

The end of the year is coming up quick and I want to start a new tradition. Each year we are going to gather the best of what's been posted on ContractorTalk.com and vote on a winner. We will send the winners a free ContractorTalk.com T-Shirt and of course the bragging rights that come along with being voted the best.

Here's how this will work. Between now and the end of the year we will take nominations in this thread for the best of 2008. I will then count up the nominations and put the top three for each category to a vote among the members. Once that is done we will hand out prizes and titles.

Sound fun?

Categories:
Best Thread of 2008 (Prize goes to the thread starter)
Best Post of 2008
Most Helpful Member of 2008

Format:
In order to keep this thread readable, please keep your posts as simple as possible. Just list the category, the nomination, and comments about the nomination (if needed).

When referencing a specific post please link directly to it. You can read how to do that here: https://www.contractortalk.com/f45/ho...ly-post-50391/

Well, that's it. Let's hear those nominations.

Rory's injured cat thread!

Funniest thread I've ever read on here.

The thread where the girl got 500 post in 3 hours deserves recognition also!

I can see this turning into a Pirates of the Carribean At Worlds End setup where everyone votes for themselves!

I second that motion.

Also Mac's ramp-a-thon deserves recognition.

Re: Nominations: ContractorTalk.com - The Best Of 2008

I haven't been a member of the forum for very long, but for best thread (in terms of humor anyway), my nomination would be RBS Remodeling's well intentioned, and ultimately doomed, "CT Spelling Police" of a couple of months back.
That thread de-generated fast and was gut-bustingly funny throughout.

Neutral Hotter Than Hot was a classic for sure. First time I've seen the term "Turd Wrestler" in reference to a plumber...

Bump.. maybe we should nominate during the year, (like when a particular thread is really good), then we wouldn't have to think too hard at the end of the year...

Yea, early this year I plan on adding a system where people can thank others for their post... along with a lot of other upgrades.

I'll get the voting up on this in the next day or so. Thanks
