My Wolverine Boots Are Failing & Falling Apart ??

So about 3 months ago I bought these new work boots .. paid around $130 for them.
They worked fine for the first couple weeks - then the inside liner above my toes started to buckle downward, down onto the top of my toes.
Only the left boot has done this, but its rather uncomfortable to say the least.

I decided to write wolverine through email hoping I could just send them in for repair or replacement.
Received an email back after several days reffering me back to the store I bought them from

That's sounds all fine and dandy ... but is not convenient as the receipt has already been filed into my yearly clothing allowance .. and is technically not in my possession anymore - PITA

My dawgs are barking mad now...

I don't think I'll be buying these POS boots again

Customer service left a bad taste quick - lesson learned!

I really wanted to try the carolina's but the day I went and bought boots they didn't have many in stock.

So I went with these - could probably have ran across the street to walmart and found something better than what I got ahold of that day.

Now its the month of december and I'm almost certainly going to have to go buy some kind of new work boots ... didn't see that one coming

I bet the store has you on file if they're any kind of modern. I'd just go in before I started digging for receipts.

I just noticed. Your name is actually Jim Crow?

Yeesh. I actually met a little kid named Michael Myers today. I don't know if his parents had no idea or were really big fans of the movie.

I can't speak highly enough of my Thorogoods. American made, not cheap, but mine are going on 18 months of 5 to 6 days a week wear. I used to get three to four months out of boots for reference.

I just bought my second pair of Keen boots this week. First pair was way better than any wolverine boots I had previously

Re: My Wolverine Boots Are Failing & Falling Apart ??

i second the keen boots.. in the past i was averaging a pair of work boots every 4-5 months.. the cushioning and support would go on them before the soles would wear out. this includes cofra's, dakota's, jb goodhues, and kodiaks. since switching to keens in april 2013 ive only had 2 pairs of boots . my current ones were bought in late october 2013 and are almost ready for the trash. the first pair i accidentally melted by sitting too close to the electric rad drying them out

I only get 6 months out of wolverines, but they are comfy. I have a current pair that the heel liners are trashed on. Still wearable though. Now socks, I am a little bitch about

Wolverine's are not what they use to be, I like the Thoroughgood's also.

I am getting 2 1/2 years out of mine. Though I need to get new boots the soles are wearing thin.

I wish companies made a pair of boots that the uppers would last longer than the sole. I would love to be able to re-sole a a nice broken in pair.

Check Amazon for some good prices. You can get red wings and thoros for 100 or less if you know how and when to look. I just got a pair of thoros, wolverines, and cats for my husband this week. My husband beats up any brand, they could be even made of black box material. The pair of cats that I got will probably last me years.

I don't normally make shameless plugs but the company is in my hometown...

http://www.workboot.com

Viberg boots are absolutely the best boot you can buy. I've been through Redwings, Cats, Carhartt's, Dakotas and now I will never go anywhere else.

I used to go through 2 pairs of boots a year but now I just get my vibe's re-soled. I wear through the tread before the upper starts to show any signs of breakdown.

A hard sticker to swallow but trust me. It's worth it.

Re: My Wolverine Boots Are Failing & Falling Apart ??

I'll 2nd (or 3rd) the Keen boots. I have had a low top pair for over a year now with no issues. Comfortable, durable and they look good too. No more sore feet. Looking for another pair just to switch it up.
