Some of the cheaper ones get really wide lines quick. Makes them pretty much worthless beyond using it to hang pictures.

That is inaccurate I have been at tools shows and seen the red right beside the green outside and the red was invisible and the green could be seen. I hate putting cardboard over the windows to see the red one inside on a nice day.
