Some of thats personal too, though. My work truck is my personal truck also. Its 20 miles to town one way.... and I usually work 6 days a week. So it adds up fast. Got one project in Spicewood, two in Horseshoe, one in Sunrise Beach, a sales call in Kingsland and a EDC meeting in Marble Falls, then run to the office ( 5 miles out of town) , and turn in some paper work and get some materials or tools out of the shop for the first job in Spicewood the next morning, then pick up the kid and go to soccer practice in Marble Falls, then 20 miles home to Spicewood adds up fast.

You need to get out of stocks soon. If you don't you will come to regret it.

Re: Lower Fuel Prices

I've been working within a couple miles of home lately. If I didn't have to run into town to get stuff id have it made.

I've done about two months worth of work this year on a job that is about 45 min away but it's t&m and I charge him a fuel surcharge for mileage so I actually make out better than working close.

Yeah, how do you know this? Wait it must be a feeling. I'm perfectly capable of handling my investments just fine. If I had listened to people tell me to get out I would of lost thousands. My wife's retirement is gauranteed to pay her 80,000 a year for life, and that's if she retired today. It will pay even more in 10 years when she does retire, so my retirement account can be invested in I little more risky investments.

You really shouldn't be telling people where to put their money without knowing anything about where there money is or what there financial situation is.

I'm going to be doing my sister's house soon which is only 4 miles from my house. Problem is it's 30 miles from town. If things aren't planned correctly it can cost a lot of money.

As far as normal daily driving, I'm a good 1-1/2 hrs to and from work. Only 45 miles but the traffic is stupid in Florida in winter. I can get about 9 miles away to the job in about 20 minutes is the worst part but most of the work is on the beaches and before you get to one of the islands its just silly.

Company truck see's right around 30-33k miles a year except this year I had a job that twice a week I had to drive 400 miles so it will be extensive or is that expensive?

I apologize for my post. I did not intend for it to be taken as all that serious of advise. I do worry a lot about the possibility of a coming economic crash in the next two years. My worry does not mean it will happen or that any one else should join in my worries. I have been on this sight long enough to know that you are a smart guy who is good at business and you will do fine regardless of the economy.

There are a lot of very legitimate reasons to foresee severe problems on the horizon. However, we don't live under a system that follows the rules of common sense. If we did, we would be an impoverished bankrupt country, not the greatest super power the world has ever seen.

I remember back in 08 telling a friend that the markets were going to continue to fall and that if you put money in you would lose it. He bought big at DOW 9,000. Guess who was right...

As long as he didn't pull the plug when it went lower, he should be a happy man right now if he bought in at 9000

Wow I'm amazed! In NYC teachers threatened to strike at least every other year when I was growing up.
