Look What Johnson Levels Sent Me

As we were talking about last week about replacing the vials and not being able to find replacements parts on their website, I called them (Johnson Co.) and they sent me the replacement parts free of charge... they didnt even charge me for the express delivery. I thought that was real kind of them!!

Now I just have to find out how to replace them...LOL

Cool I never hear back from companies when I ask for assistance. Not even McDonalds when I Found black curly hair in my food twice.

I'm curious why you'd go back a second time.

I was helping my dad work on his apartment building. I didn't really have a choice where he went.

Not to hi-jack this tread, but i will dump on Finehomebuilding now. A month ago i get this email saying ,special offer, buy index / archives cheap this week. I reply, hey JLC has just opened index / archives for free to subscribers last month. I wrote also, you used to include index in every Jan. issue for previous year, you cut that out now you want to charge ? Also let me add,i 've been getting FHB since issue #7. They email back, someone will contact you within 2 days

You guessed it,sorry, just had to dump.

Great to see some companies value the business we give them !!!

If you pop the glass off there is usually a couple tiny screws that hold the vials in. I LOVE Johnson levels

I love it when companies take care of their employee's like this. Really, shows they care. I called BEHR back in the summer for some paint swatches. I honestly was interested in purchasing them, and I was willing to pay. I explained to them that I couldn't get a straight answer from different managers and employee's in terms of being able to purchase them. BEHR sent me one free of charge, I offered to pay for it but they told me since I am a contractor I get one free one!

Those kind of things do stick with you and you do remember from you and your comrades experience with a company. For instance, Fluke meters once sent me a new voltage pocket tester because my old one stopped working. This particular one I had for so many years I knew they didnt make anylonger but I called them in hopes of getting a replacement part or maybe sending it in for repair. They said dont bother we will just send you another. Mind you, my father had given me this thing 20+ years ago, but to them I was still a customer and they cared. (every meter I have now..i.e., voltage, amp, temp...etc are Flukes!!)

You probably would have to sure McDonalds to get their attention. That is about the only thing the company will listen to.

I figured I would have got a coupon or in the least a response back.

My brother in law would call companies and lie to get free stuff. He called some juice place and said he found a finger nail clipping in it. He got lots of coupons for free juice.

Craftsman sucks too at getting back to you. I have a hydrostatic lawn tractor that leaked all the oil out. The thing was only a few years old. I got on their website and ordered all new seals and tore it apart and replaced them. I didn't know what oil to use so I called them up. The woman said they are sealed units and they cant be fixed, you have to replace the whole transmission with a re manufactured one. I said I just ordered all the part from you guys and put it back together, all I need to know is why type of oil I need and how much. She put me on hold and then finally told me.

I need to call dewalt, I got the biggest baddest jig saw they make that flew apart after about 15min of use. The 20 year old black and decker still works fine.

Re: Look What Johnson Levels Sent Me

Let me share this customer service story withyou folks.. Growing up in Chicago there was high end dept.store Marshall Fields was the name. Old lady down street worked in high end dress dept. Whole store had only two customer policys. To customer,do you want refund or exchange,no haggling ever. Late '50s lady purchases white $300 dress (whole lot of money then). Picks up dress late friday ,first thing monday standing at counter, clerk says can i help. Lady says yes. Clerk takes dress from box. Huge red stain all on front of dress. Goes to back room, tells boss, you got to see this dress, boss says no i don't. Tells clerk, ask same two questions we ask ALL customers. Goes back, gives lady all her money back.

Takes dress in back room, pulls out of box, hangs it up shows boss. He does not flinch. Tells clerk, sure lady wrecked it,got drunk spilled wine on it. Tells clerk, this is how it works. If we do not give money back, lady will tell every one she knows how we shafted her, will never buy from us again. Sad part, WE WILL NEVER GET TO TELL OUR SIDE OF STORY,and we have built our reputation on impeckable customer service,we will not let one dress wreck our reputation.

Was always told if you make a customer happy on average they will tell 20 people. Make 1 customer mad or un happy they will tell an average of 100 people.

Idk, every time I had a slightest problem they would give a bunch of food for free.
And I go there rather rarely.

Re: Look What Johnson Levels Sent Me

Same here. I remember in grade 3 when I did a bunch of extra work for the teacher (Even 30 years later I bet I would date her if I wasn't married, killed me when I found out she was getting married) she took me to McDonalds for lunch and her fillet-o-fish was kind of raw and she ended up getting the meal for free and we got apple pies and ice cream and a bunch of coupons.

Another time as a teenager I ate half the 1/4pounder and brought it back saying that someone had eaten half my burger. I git a new one before the words were even out of my mouth. Looking back it's scary that they believed me. Who were they hiring?
