Know Your Tile Type

Tile cleaning is an effective strategy for keeping your flooring looking like it's new. It's important to know what type of tile you have first though.

If you put something acidic down on limestone, travertine, or marble, you may just as well look at replacing your floor. Travertine doesn't require the same cleaning or polishing as marble, so what works for one won't work for the other. Slate is different than saltillo. All of this information is important when figuring an estimate. Tile cleaning cost largely depends upon the square footage, however, the charge should go up the more you have to do.

You want your home to look good, and a good place to start is your flooring. Knowing your tile will help to save some trouble later on when you call in a tile cleaning company.
