As I frequently say at my lectures, while Sears sold about 70,000 of their kit homes, about 750,000 people *think* they have a Sears kit house.

This house - while a lovely home - is definitely NOT a Sears kit house. I'm sure.

It may still be a "Kit" home. There were a few others that manufactured kit homes.

Most of the nation-wide, kit-home manufacturers were gone by World War 2. There were many regional kit home companies but the majority of those were also gone by the 1940s.

Thing is, anyone can say it's a kit home, but the challenge is matching it to a specific model in a catalog.

The big post-WW2 kit home company was Aladdin, who endured until 1981, but I don't recognize the mid-century ranch shown in that photo as an Aladdin design.

So great to see you back posting again Rose. Sent you a message a few months ago when we were discussing Sears. So sorry to hear that the last few years have been tough for you.
