How Many Ceilings Does One Man Need?

This is longish, but worth it.

Oh man, what I would give to see some pix of that!
My maximum find on ceilings is three. The last of which, naturally was lathe and plaster, one of my least favorite things to tear out over my head.
That story was friggin' classic.

Some times it boggles the mind.
What are the odds that that many
idiots, separated by that much time,
passed through this one house?
I had a split level like that last year.
Absolutely stunning how many totally
idiotic modifications had been made,
and then added to by even more
idiotic "improvements.

I had one a while back too. I even found Romex run through a gutter cut in the drywall and then mudded over. LOTS of it.
It was like the house had been haunted every generation or so by some DIYer nightmare.

It makes you feel sorry for the house. The things people will do.

Re: How Many Ceilings Does One Man Need?

How the heck do ya get drywall to hold when it's screwed to the grid work of a drop ceiling? Boy, some DIYer's have the greatest luck. That ceiling would have been on the ground by days end with me. (course we wouldn't have considered it in the first place.) That was a good read, thanks!

Hung more ceilings than any man has ever seen.5 grid ceilings under the other, In a strip center over a ten year period .Pushed up 5 layers of ceiling tile to put new . At Associated milk producers in Amarillo. Said thay did not want the mess. Had a duck man put gray tape from ceiling wire to ceiling wire to hold up flex,
