Housing Starts And Permits Rise Sharply In September

The numbers were just released. Housing starts way up and permits make the largest jump since 1983.

Hope you guys get a piece of that!

How many per state, Mike? (/50, I mean).

Thanks David, I can't post links from my Android. If I can I certainly don't have a clue how.

Anyhow, just thought that news would brighten somebody's day.

Just copy the URL and paste it into your thread. It will convert to a hyperlink automatically. If it is short enough you can just type it and it will recognize it.... http://www.hyperlink.com

Housing starts are good for us.

Housing sales are good for the country.

From what I hear, they are only building high end homes, at least here in KC.

As long as they're being built for those who can afford them it's a good thing.

Good Luck

Middle class is still hurting while upper class is doing better than ever.

Looks like KC is right in line with the mainstream of the U.S.:

IOW, strongest numbers are in the move-up, detached home market segment.

This bodes well for remodelers in the K/B, sun rooms & landscapers too.

Re: Housing Starts And Permits Rise Sharply In September

In the last couple of months, things have really boomed here. I actually have turned down some very good jobs due to our work load. Work booked up til Jan/Feb as is right now, and a couple of great prospects for spring.

Re: Housing Starts And Permits Rise Sharply In September

We have a couple pockets of cities/counties that havent been hit like elsewhere in the state. I have been lucky enough to get more and more jobs in that area and I just looked at a basement finish in that new neighborhood with 700k plus house and about 50 of them in various stages.

Denver is now hit or miss as it depends where and when you bought your bungalow.

For some reasons kitchens are hot. I have no clue why, doesn't really help me much but it's good the folks in construction are seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.

With that said though ........ I was talking with the GM at Home Depot and the are doing 50% of what they were doing in 2007.
