House Where I Got Married Is Up For Sale.

http://www.kauailuxuryrealestate.com/index.htm

This house belongs to my wife's Aunt and Uncle. We got married on this property on 7/7/07 and stayed in the guest house for two weeks. I literally would have taken a job as their gardener and given up my business to stay here permenantly.

Thumbs up

Re: House Where I Got Married Is Up For Sale.

Then your wife must come from a rich-heritage family. Why do they sell now? 9.5 millions is a lot!. Do you guys have or inherit any investment/fortune in it after they sold?

It looks like a heaven place to me. So beautiful scenes at night with moonlight, serene blue sky, calm ocean, palm trees, and cooling breeze!!...Such a heaven place to live & retire to death!

No. We have no claim of any sort on the place. They were just extremely generous and invited us to get married on their property. They paid for the flowers and catering. All we had to do was get there and rent a car. The guest house is bigger than the house we live in now. That outdoor kitchen/bar on the lanai now has a seat with my butt print in it.

My wife's doesnt come from royalty or anything like that. Her Aunt and Uncle just worked hard and got involved in the right business. The uncle started a civil engineering firm in So. California and obviously did pretty well. They retired to Kauai a few years ago and had this house built. They are now selling it and downsizing into a 4,000 sq. ft. house a few miles from this one. We were scheduled to go back to Kauai and stay there again in July for our 1 year aniversary, but they are going to be in the middle of this move and they are having work done to the new house, so it wasn't a good time. We are going to drive to Wyoming instead to visit other relatives.

It was definitely a heavenly place.

If this doesn't work out, perhaps you'll get married in a travel trailer next time. That way, you'll always have the "Honeymoon Suite" wherever you go.

Congrats on the 1st year and many, many more happy years!

Yep. They're definitely on my good side. They are very nice down to earth people. I'm bummed that they are selling the place. It was ridiculous. Everything was top notch.

Kind of a funny story:...When we were there, my wife tells her aunt..."I really like those black bamboo towel bars in the guest house bathrooms"...the reply: "Those aren't black bamboo, they are custom carved ebony"...$2500 each...two in each bathroom.

I lived on Kauai years ago and knew a civil engineer from Orange County. He was doing work on the island after hurricane Iniki .At that time they had a second home on the island (not this one). Your wifes uncle wouldn't be named Dale by any chance?
