Gotta Love It

Gotta love those Monday dump runs because they aren’t open on Saturday and you didn’t think about it on Friday...oh well...

Don’t love the smell while dumping tho...

Re: Gotta Love It

I dumped 10 sq of shingles in the landfill today. Tore off, loaded, and shingled a little bitty house on Saturday. I would never carry shingles up a ladder normally, but they were seconds and I had a helper. I figured we could take our time to save $400.

The lady at the landfill said it was uncovered and I said it was fine, it had traveled the interstate just like that.

$29 for the yardage, and she charged me $10 for not having it covered, which I nearly always do. Whatever.

Re: Gotta Love It

I've seen people stop just down the road and loosely throw a tarp over the load to meet the "All loads must be covered" rule. Saves the hassle of rigging something that won't flap around on the highway.

$70 and some change... 1 ton minimum. They don't give a chit if you only have 45 pounds

Jeez, you guys are lucky. Went from $110 a ton to $190 a ton over the last 2 years. Northeast isn't renewing landfill permits and trash is getting very expensive.

Damn man, where are you?

I haven't been in about a year, but last I was at the transfer station it was still $90/ton in NJ.

Re: Gotta Love It

$160 a metric ton here but there are always additional fees... The dump here is in cahoots with the tire shops so I'll have to pay $35 quite often for a flat repairs and lately I've just been forking out an extra $200 every dump run for a new tire when I get nails through the sidewall.

20 min north of Boston. I was paying $90/ton 2 years ago, it's to the point dumpsters are cheaper.
