Over the ear.

Ear buds hurt after an hour or so.

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

Same here. I prefer over the ear models.

All I can hear when I wear earbuds is my own breathing and heartbeat. The other reason is on a dirty jobsite I dont want to keep pulling out and putting in a grungy earbud into my ear. That's just asking for an ear infection.

Also, I've had over the ear protection keep me from getting hurt when they take a hit instead of my ears.

Those are good units, I would love a new set as mine seems to have walked off somewhere.

Over the ear.
I can only take the earbuds in my ears for a short time.

Been wanting a new pair for some time now. Just haven't gone out to get them. Maybe now I won't have too.

Over the ear, for all the same reasons, plus they're easy to find.

I use both , but only the foam ones for ear buds, If I am cutting , then over the ears. sometimes even both at the same time. Just depends on what I am doing.

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

I use in-the-ear hearing protectors abut 80% or more of the time.

If I'm in a situation where they'll be coming in and out a lot, I'll switch to muff style.

But, most of the time that I'm using hearing protection, I'm also wearing a hard hat and safety glasses. Some times a full face respirator. All of that is a no-go with over-the-ear style hearing protectors.

Over the ear for me too most of the time . When it’s hot the earbuds are better , don’t need anything else contributing to the sweat factor

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

I use both styles depending on the situation

1) i prefer over the ear muffs

2) they are easier to take on and off or lift the one side up when communication as opposed to in ear plugs where you are jamming ear plugs in and out

Usually when it’s required but not necessary to have ear protection i like the plugs that kinda loosely fit in my ear, But if I’m working around something loud where you definitely need the protection I like earmuffs

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

Over the ear muffs so much more comfortable during the course of the day also I think the muffs are safer, if the buds are connected to each other with a cord it hangs down and can become dangerous.

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

Over the ear, for multiple reasons.

Earbuds/plugs don't fit my ears well. It's usually about a five minute process to get them seated well enough to be effective; often longer. Over the ear is generally much more comfortable long-term, even on hot sweaty days. And if there are electronic control buttons/sliders/whatever, they're more ergonomic on over the ear than dangling on a skinny cord or hanging off the back of the ear.

Over the ear. Have never gotten truly comfortable with anything in my ears.

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

I prefer over the ear.
The many styles of in the ear plugs I have tried are always found difficult to use, they are not comfortable and usually don't cut out all that much noise.

Over the ear - more comfortable, and much harder to lose.

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

I always have a pair of custom molded earplugs in with a baffle that reduces higher dbs but not lower dbs, I can talk on the phone without taking them out, I will add over the ear if running louder equipment, or to listen to music/podcasts if the task allows

Just got fitted for a new set that are bluetooth compatible, we will see how that goes

I would choose over-the-ear because they are quicker to take on and off.

Re: GIVEAWAY: 3M™ WorkTunes™ Product Giveaway

Ive got a pair over over the ear in the shop & a pair on the riding lawn mower. Could use another pair for the work trailer. Never been a fan of ear buds.
