I sure hope so. Say what you like about California, that would be completely unenforceable.

The entire west coast has almost the same laws. It's unenforceable in Washington also.

Hopefully SM will get a lot of bad PR out of that too.

Crazy, but I've always thought that's just a means to threaten someone as in most cases, it's not enforceable. The legal fees are the threat. Be interesting if they also made him an 'independent businessman'. Now that'd be gall--unenforceable gall, but gall nonetheless.

I think they may have some Fed issues, namely restraint of trade. Their whole premise is "we train you, we own you" in order to prevent competitors from hiring their personal. I'm sure this will be dropped by Friday, but it would be cool to see the issue pushed and Service Master bloodied.

Non-Comps rarely hold up. The only time it does is when trade secrets apply and then it's a bit sketchy.

Not sure what SM is thinking if they really pursue this. Big bad corporation squishing the hard working blue collar worker trying to get ahead in life.

If you want public relations disasters that even Service Magic can't clean up, let your lawyers or accountants run your business. Idiots.
