Don't Be A Bad Apple

You guys coming from out of town really left a mess behind. Thanks a lot.

When we go out of town looking for work we don't cutthroat and drive the price down in your town but apparently you have no conscience. If we find work, great but we don't under bid your going prices.
Last summer we were so busy we needed help and so guys were called but some of you drove our prices down so ridiculously that know we can't get back to the norm and there is no work at all.
Let me put it another way, you wouldn't like it someone took food out of your children and families mouths and that's exactly what you did to us, and then left town. Your a guest and this is our town so act accordingly.
People are made as hell and hurting. This is a reality. We are in the same industry and should not be stepping on each others toes like that.
You know who you are and shame on you.
You best be advised to think of your wife and children and how that would feel to not be able to provide for them.
The next time you visit someone elses town for work, BE A MAN AND EXTEND A LITTLE FRIGGEN COURTESY.

Welcome to the wonderful world of contracting.

When the going gets tough I tighten the budget & live on peanut butter & jelly sandwiches.

BTW, you're new to the forum so you could...."EXTEND A LITTLE FRIGGEN COURTESY".

Once you put your location in your profile, we'll know who did this to you. A lotta stormchasers in drywall these days?

Jumbo, love that animated gif! I'm stealing it!!

Re: Don't Be A Bad Apple

With all due respect; what will YOU do when your family is hungry and there's no work around? Would you go outside of your regular area and work for less than you normally do, just to be working and have a bit of money? Or would you sit on your principles and refuse to get down and dirty, at the same time as not being able to feed your kids.
I think not. You'll do what you have to do.

I can tell you right now; this year I will be as agressive on price as I have to be to keep rolling and pay my bills. I'm not going to sit on principle and be polite and dainty. I will be out there rattling the trees, beleive me.
So will a thousand other guys, but I'm gonna rattle louder!

Re: Don't Be A Bad Apple

It was me. I admit it.

I rolled into (where's he from?) and hired out at 2 peanutbutter sandwiches a board for hanging, and a glass of milk with an oatmeal cookie for finishing.

Best three months of my life. But now I've moved on to where they add a piece of chicken for stocking 100 board.

Tough crowd.

I read it as a guy blowing off some steam after perhaps loosing his umpteenth bid this winter because the homeowner wants it for next to nothing.

I agree..When things are as slow as they are now I would rather win all of a small pot than none of a big one...poker analogy

But that does'nt make up for the fact that the op came off sounding like Marvin the Martian...
