Creosote Sweeping Logs?

I know this is kind of an off topic, but I am hoping that there are some fireplace specialty people on here.

Do those Creosote Sweeping Logs work? Are they worth it?

Very much so... For Rutland.

You may as well just throw the cash in the fire and watch the pretty colors.

Or

Support your local Sweep.

Re: Creosote Sweeping Logs?

I opened up the inspection cap on my triple wall stainless chimney for the wood stove in my shop. Been using it for 5 years now, and the inside of that chimney looked like it was installed last week.

I think any hot fire will burn off any build up. You just don't want to have a lot of slow burning, low heat, high smoke fires. Green wood is a big no no.

Wouldn't waste my money on the logs. If you got a creosote problem, call a sweep, or clean it yourself. The brushes and rods are not expensive, but falling off the roof and breaking your neck is.

Yes!
And tails too.
Especially when you know the kids will be there.

But, no Sir, I do not sing.

That, will get you better tips, than wearing the get-up!

Re: Creosote Sweeping Logs?

All those logs do is burn hotter so as to burn off the build up. Just build a big-ass scary fire and you have the same effect.

Thats why he wants to know if those logs work, he wants the smoke to go up the chimney.
