Millennial are not buying homes because the bulk of them aren't the hardworking entrepreneurs the past generations were.

When my father's truck broke down as a young millennial at one time walked 11 miles to work for some time because his family needed to eat. You'd never get that type of millennial today for the most part.

I heard people talking that some people have walked more than 1,400 miles in the hopes of securing a better life.

Keep that stuff down in the basement. LOL

They want a better life they need to build it themselves, or prepare to go through full channels to be allowed in, and when allowed in they need to assimilate and become Americans or they can kick rocks.

Plenty of tough hard ass millineals. Just not as many as depression era folks.

Among the 8 or so of my closest buddies ( right on the line age wise) we'd all fit in that category.

Kids are so much BS, feeding them, clothing them, remembering to let them back in when the go out to potty, not forgetting them in the truck in the summer, all that stuff.

You haven't ever heard of a US born millennial doing that. Hell they get pissed when the wifi isn't working. AND there are 3 billion people on this earth that would come here if we let them. There are also those that will try to come here when we don't let them. That's not what we're talking about now is if?

I assume you're housing some of these people? Or do you believe that's something others should pay for?

Why the hell would an American do that at any age? Haven't ever seen a baby boomer walk 1400 miles either unless they were hobo or something lol

The Illegals aren’t walking 1400 miles either, they’re hitching rides most of the way.

Hell my neighbor cant even get his teenage kids to shovel the snow off their own driveway....he does it

Good thing they just bought their “princess” a new car! Lazy freakin kids wouldn’t know what a chore is if it smacked them upside their head.... but I guess the parents are to blame for that right?

When I was a teenager and it snowed I was running around the neighborhood with a shovel trying to earn a few bucks

Re: Birth Rates Down - AND - Millennials Not Buying Homes

I had my own snow route for the winter, 5 driveways in the neighborhood that I'd take care of before I went to school. In the summer I had 7 lawns I took care of. That was when I was about 9 years old and up. At 14 I got a job on tobacco. Certainly didn't like that and only lasted the year. Got a job in a electronics shop while I was going to Hartford State Tech college. And so forth and so on.

Re: Birth Rates Down - AND - Millennials Not Buying Homes

No paper routes out in the country where I lived. Change out paper route for "square bails" and that was the route for 4 of the 8 guys I previously mentioned during hay season on Saturday and Sundays.

Construction during the week on breaks in high school, short order cook, prep cook after school around sports schedules. Bought my own truck, gas, tools, clothes ect... That wasn't uncommon among my buddies childhoods and adolescents

Re: Birth Rates Down - AND - Millennials Not Buying Homes

Did shoveling and lawn mowing neighbors starting 3rd grade. Paper route 7th grade. . Sunday’s sucked on the paper route but Christmas was the worst. Had two routes for one of the years, the second one was an apartment complex so you could deliver the papers fast but no one wanted to pay their bill (we had to collect the money). If someone didn’t pay, not only did I not get payed but I had to pay the press for their paper. It was very hard to get the press to cancel anybody’s subscription for not paying because the press always got paid. I think I spent more time collecting money than delivering papers.
