Bad Breath

I met a HO yesterday his breath was so bad I could not even hear what he was saying.

I meet with subs that that had garlic pizza the night before, and like to close talk

Doing daily business is kind of like dating
If the experience is unpleasant it is unlikely I will want to see you again.

I am trying not to sound like a Fancy Nancy hear, but

If you are a violator could you get some mints

Ok I feel better now

Re: Bad Breath

The real question is: Could you keep a straight face if you were meeting with Mr & Mrs HO and Mr HO raised his leg and ripped a loud one while Mrs HO was asking a you a question?

I couldn't...............

Re: Bad Breath

I had a similar experience with my glass guy last year...really bad breath. I felt pretty bad about making jokes about it after he died from cancer a short time later. Heck I'm I am so ignorant I had no idea that bad breath can be a symptom of serious pathologies. What an idiot am I!

Re: Bad Breath

Some years ago I had an estimate for a person of eastern Asian persuasion. The odour of Curry in the house was so overpowering I almost left. However I persevered and got the sale.
A year later, I gave a quote to a woman who had something like 100 cats. I walked in the front door, gagged, and walked right back out. I didn't bother to give a quote.
Another time I had an absolutely gorgeous lady customer, with a tank top and spectacular abs, whose body odour was.......ugh, I'm puking just thinking of it. She also didn't shave her underarms.

Then there was the naked, pleasingly plump woman who..... well, that's another story.

Re: Bad Breath

Last year we were doing an insurance resto job that had sat for over 8 months while the HO and insurance co haggled about coverage liabilities. I was about a ten week job and everyday the jobsite smelled a little better...until we went to the garage to move appliances back in. All the meat that had been left in the fridge/freezer had liquified. Opened the door and the smell literally gagged you. We shut the door and left it there for the adjuster and homeowner to check out. We're just now starting to chuckle about it.

Re: Bad Breath

I try to keep enough distance. I always have Orbit gum in my truck or Altoids. Before every meeting I make sure I take 2 of one of them.
most people don't know if they have bad breath, too bad their spouses can't tell them.

Re: Bad Breath

One thing about bad breath is that when you have it, you are the last one to notice. I had a client like that who refused the offer for a mint. His breath was so bad that I could taste it. I had a can of Altoids and so I took one and offered him one.. he said, "Oh no thanks! That's OK. I'm fine."

I said, "are you sure? Go ahead. Help yourself." And he said, "Nah.. my breath isn't bad."

Re: Bad Breath

That must be some serious bad breath. Normally I cant smell someones breath unless they are in very close proximty or have been drinking. Usually the two go hand in hand

Re: Bad Breath

We had a guy working for us that could stop the clock with his breath. One of the guys dubbed him "Circus Breath" due to the fact that it smelled like elephant s#!t.
