Website Love - Did A Little Tweaking Around

Let me know what you think. I am certainly not any type of web guy, not even close. If you saw what this was a week ago, you'd flame me. Might still. I revamped quite a bit because it was lacking considerably in many areas. Pretty much abandoned it. Well, this last weekend I had the proverbial 2x4 whacked upside the head and if I get out of this, I will be forever thankful.

I already know of two or three things that is not right. One I have to resize many of the pictures. Another is I am missing some pages on my menu. I'm getting there. Don't overload me with suggestions. I'm close, I don't want to revamp the revamp if you get my drift.

Flame away.

Not bad at all....

IMO, I'd have spent a couple more bucks and hired a better looking model than the one you got....

I like your statement in the "Who we are"....

I think it does a nice job of identifying and marketing your brand. The load time on the scrolling pictures took a while. I did not even realize there were pictures until the second time I visited the page. I did like your budget page. I think selling value before price is discussed is key to avoid sticker shock and getting good profit.

Looks good!

Wait, I thought you were a cowboy! I'm disappointed.

I like it a lot. You do need to resize some pictures, and re-organize the navigation menus. Having all of your pages lumped under "about" probably isn't the best way to go.

Good work!

It does seem to have an issue there, not sure why. It's a new plug in and I had trouble with it earlier. I noticed that as well, that when one goes to open up one picture it takes forever. Thought it was just my connection.

Looks good Kent, real good, but like someone said the loading time on some is slow a bit, could be because the code lacks image pre-load script. Also when you go to About-Cabinet Construction- the bottom 2 links don't work...

Try This Kent it will test your page and it will show you what you need to do to twick a few things.

Other then that it looks real good

I like it

"My standards cannot be achieve". Has some ED going on. Or missing as the case may be.

Clean and simple looking website! It's definitely easy to navigate, I would consider adding your phone number in plain site though Great work!

I like it although I'd like to see some contrast on the landing page. An image or something to break up the tan colors

You don't get the big pictures? I seem to have a loading issue. Some with the portfolio, but also with the main page. The loading thing is a big issue right now. I was wondering if it was just on my end with the choked dsl.

I think you might need a faster host.

Looks like you have Hostmonster. They have an extra fee that you can pay for your own ip address server. It would speed up your site a bit, but I think downsizing some pictures would help you more. Google will ding you for having a slower than average site. I have considered paying the extra money for my own. I think my site ranks right at average time for loading (I would assume faster is better). You can get all the information from google analytics

Almost forgot... Get your contact information at the top of the page. (with area code, it lets people know that you service their area)

I am working on that now as well. I have someone that will do a clean mobile upgrade for me when I get some better cash flow coming in. Slowly getting there. I am finally showing up on analytics and organic searches. Pretty decent too I might add. Not quite page one, but first on page two...which doesn't help me any

Re: Website Love - Did A Little Tweaking Around

Kent,

I'm sitting on 75mb Down and 40MB up fiber/service and the library gallery took a few seconds to load.

Image gallery library-8.png = 1.18MB that's a bit large for fast loading.

Two questions
How are you, sizing the images - Photoshop or.....?
How are you deciding the optimal aspect & file size the images?

Very good web site overall. Really like the simplicity and of course that "friendly installer" speaks volumes - I think

Re: Website Love - Did A Little Tweaking Around

Yeah, PS. I knew that the portfolio part was heavy. I have to really go through all of that and fix it. I'm a little torn because I am in discussion with someone who will take over all of this maintenance stuff and am trying to decide whether to take the time myself or let him do this for me.
