Re: So... What Did You Blog Today?

I really should post more, but my posts are not really focused on look at what I do, but more of problems I try to solve. For the most part, I really dont like blogging, its boring even for me to read....

http://www.jbmohlermasonry.com/what-...-stone-veneer/

As you can see I simply added my town list in the post. It will pull those towns and tie it into thin stone veneer without adding any towns into the content( in typical fashion) or H1's ect. I do believe you are right regarding local seo not really needing to have towns stuffed into their titles, but they need to show up somewhere on the page for organic search anyhow.

The site is new, so im monitoring some bouncing. I will dominate the top of all those town pages at some point

Thats all I can say on that.

Re: So... What Did You Blog Today?

Just blogged about a quick summary of my day. Nothing too fancy. Just kinda tossing stuff out there in a manner to be natural instead of a type of planned structure.

As you said JBM and Barry...I know google picks up these posts. Pretty damn smart people Google employs, yes sir...

Re: So... What Did You Blog Today?

Bob... and others with WordPress sites.. careful with categories. Use ONE category per post and many tags (if you want to use tags).

Using more than one category will cause duplicate content in your site.

Thanks for the heads up!

Was you talking how I had that post in Benhardt News and Blog? Or was it something else?

If it was the former, I just changed it.

Thanks again, Barry.

Re: So... What Did You Blog Today?

If I remember correctly yoast seo has an article about dup. WP issues, I believe he has mentions how to set up the plugin for categories and tags. , if anyone is looking for something in depth.

There are some things like archives, date archives, author archives ect that he either no indexes or whatever. Been a long time. Going into areas that make my head hurt.

Re: So... What Did You Blog Today?

Just want to thank y'all bastages got me thinking

Heavy sigh ... installed WP, again

My First new blog post

Thoughts,
Intention is to use WP blog for part of what it is meant to be. A repository of searchable and feeding articles. Thinking that once an article is created can feed from social media posts linking to the blog. The blog article will have relevant links to a website page/s. And possibly use the 'content' of the blog article in actual web pages on the main site. Considering the WP Blog part of the URL as a library of content to be used else where, through linking and including on pages.

Looks and feels like a very wide funnel that can be focus to a specific page with all the trappings to create leads. From creating one marketing focused topic generate all the text, media for the site, blog, social media and other ad media. ]

Generally, right now anyway, it takes a fair portion of a day to develop a story-message, gather and modify images, do layout, write the copy, add SEO, check spelling, check the linking, check media display formatting, publish the page and do quality assurance on line. For time vested, leveraging all the content anywhere and every where I can makes a lot of sense. Considering SEO is becoming content driven and Good Marketing always has been. Page created last week Pergola Refresh Feels like a blog article, has specific page-service-location relevance also from SEO side.

Chasing my tail with all that above?

JBM

I have access to a Texas sized Version of a Carl. All of 5'7" in physical stature and 10' tall Oracle like presence when he's talking & doing marketing, advertising, Social Media and SEO.

Getting closer to pulling that trigger. Until then there is much to learn, understand and explore. Have a little fun on the way.
