I am installing a floating engineered floor in a basement. I wanted some new ideas on underlayment click lock installation thnks

Check the Manufacturers specs. Don't matter what any of us think, if the Manufacturer dictates a type follow it for warranty purposes. Then narrow down the brands that fit the Manufacturers specs. After that, you'll need to answer all the other questions for anyone to guide you. Moisture content, Wood Brand/Type, Above/Below Grade ..... at which point I refer you to the Manufacturers specs again.
