Slab On Grade Floor Warmth

Hey guys,
Looking at building a cottage up north, slab on grade. We see temps around -20F sometimes.

I'm doing forces air for heat/cooling, but I'm wondering if there is any way to keep the floor warm besides radiant flooring. Does a sub floor with insulation do anything at all?

Trying to do this on the cheap, finishes will not be expensive.

Any suggestions? I'm hoping I can get away with just a well insulated slab.
