In the 60's it was a big dollar upgrade to deviate from the oak flooring to wall to wall. By the 80' hardwood all but disappeared...at least around here.

That's a good look. I like the outlets in the base as well.

I've seen a call.out a few years back identifying baseboard height with respect to ceiling height as well as other millwork features. I'll have to see if I run across it again.

My house is built in 1854, baseboards are 10" with a base cap ontop of that. Outlets in the bases. Ceilings are 10-0 and 9-0.
