Adhesive Remover For Terrazzo Flooring?

Ok, I'm on the hunt for an adhesive remover for terrazzo flooring. The floor currently has glue down carpet over it, which we are going to remove. Then we will attempt to remove as much adhesive as possible and see what she looks like.

I had spoken with another installer who had suggested a "Panda" product/remover? I am able to find little information on the product, let alone where to purchase it.

So I am open to suggestions from all of you more seasoned pro's.

Thanks.

Re: Adhesive Remover For Terrazzo Flooring?

The question I guess is this, is the base level flooring terrazzo? Has the glue down carpet been installed over it. Are you looking to restore the terrazzo and remove the adhesive residue? Or are you looking to simply make it acceptable for new flooring (and this makes a difference) what type of new flooring would be installed over this substrate)?

It will still be ugly terrazzo , but you will have prepped it properly to save glue for the new carpet.

Re: Adhesive Remover For Terrazzo Flooring?

So how's it look?, really terrazzo is not "ugly", it's just that a lot of colors are blah,
Today's terrazzo mixes are way more interesting using epoxy, colored glass, etc,
There are tons of houses in my area with terrazzo under carpet, tile , hardwood.
Durability wise it's an excellent product.
Then there is fashion, design.

Terrazzo will probably require "refiinishing" after having been covered with carpet adhesive and carpet for a few years. I doubt there's permanent damage done by the carpet but often the carpet is there because of pre-existing issues they chose to "sweep under the rug."

It's highly improbable that you can get anything close to a professional restoration with hand scrapers, mops and local rental yard tools.

If your customer just wants a hack, scab job they can do that themselves or drive to the local Home Depot and pick up a handful of illegal aliens.

So there's such a trade as terrazzo grinding and finishing. There's some pretty expensive equipment needed and experience operating it and following standard procedures. Terrazzo has been around for over 500 years. It's made to last but it's not one of those "easy money" do-it-yourself trades like clicking together laminates or peel and stick vinyl tile.

Also adhesive may have soaked into the white Portland and marble chips and stained to 1/8" deep
