Last week, we introduced the concept of creating an outdoor oasis – a place to escape to in the comfort of your own back yard. In that post, we offered up some practical and easy options for creating your own personal space. For today’s post, Part 2 of our two-part series, we’re going to highlight some of the more luxurious options for transforming your outdoor area into a place to relax and entertain.

Add Some Water Elements to Your Backyard
Nothing washes away the tensions of the day quite like the soothing sounds of trickling water. These sounds can leaving you feeling relaxed and very “Zen.” There are numerous ways to add an element of water to your outdoor oasis.

It can be as simple as adding a small fountain that sits atop a patio table or it can be a huge project such as installing a gushing waterfall fountain in a back yard pond or pool. If you decide to get a back yard pond, you can add things such as fish and floating lilies to add to the ambiance.

Either way, the sound of water will fill you with a sense of calm and chill, as well as add a soothing element to your back yard retreat.

Bring the Television Outside
Adding a TV to your backyard can certainly entice you to sit and stay awhile. And why not? Televisions are found everywhere else in home, so why not bring the excitement of Sunday’s game to the back yard?

Outdoor, weather-resistant TV’s can be purchased online and range in price and size, just like indoor units. A massive flat-panel television would set a great scene for an outdoor gathering. Building an outdoor space complete with a television certainly seems like a luxurious idea.

Build an Outdoor Shower
If you’re already adding a water element to your outdoor oasis, you could consider taking it a step further with an outdoor shower. This is an especially appropriate addition if you already have a pool.

Outdoor showers are stylish, functional, and luxurious. Imagine how amazing it would be to hop into an outdoor shower while the sun radiates its warmth on your body and you admire the garden views – just make sure it’s tucked away from unwanted eyes!

Outdoor Pizza Ovens
Outdoor kitchens have been growing in popularity for years, but adding an outdoor wood-burning pizza oven takes the kitchen idea to a whole new, gourmet level. A wood-burning pizza oven can be quite a conversation piece for guests when entertaining, as it’s surely not something that people encounter every day.

Any they are not just for making pizza – fresh baked breads and pastries, baked meats and seafood, and roasted veggies are just a few of the other things you can prepare in a wood-burning pizza oven!

No matter how big or small your yard or terrace, you can add the elements of music, lighting, seating and privacy to any outdoor space. Also, if you are so inclined to add the water elements, an outdoor television, shower, and/or pizza oven, then you will have luxurious bonuses!
