An apple sauce manufacturer recently purchased a production facility. The ceiling included corrugated decking, bar joists, conduit, and sprinkler heads, which totaled to nearly 31,000 square feet. The facility had previously been used to manufacture popcorn. As a result, the ceiling was coated in heavy grease and required nearly 180 hours of Power Washing with Zeps Detergent. Once cleaned, PennCoat used Sherwin Williams OptiBondto coat the ceiling. We had estimated about 120 hours to paint the entire ceiling. But due to the OptiBond's excellect coverage, we were able to reduce the application time by nearly 25 hours. The walls weren't nearly as contaminated as the ceiling, and required less power washing. Once prepped, we coated the walls with Macro-Poxy, an epoxy coating that is a durable solution for production areas. Overall, the total job was completed in roughly 450 hours.
