Painting Industrial Ceilings

One of our favorite customers contacted us, to paint their cook room and slurry room ceiling during their holiday shut down schedule. The challenge was the poor access to the surface. There was over 3000 running feet of piping that had to be covered and protected from power washing and painting. And there were over a dozen industrial sized kettles between the area. After some diligent estimating, and after factoring the corrugation factor for the ceiling, we calculated about 16,000 square feet of ceiling. Based on production rates from previous jobs, we estimated about 980 to complete the work. Total, the job took nearly 2 weeks to complete. The installers used about 145 gallons of elastomeric, and almost 15,000 sq feet of plastic was used to cover the pipes and equipment. We completed the job 150 hour under budget, and are currently looking at more projects at the owner's request.
