demo brick wall

C'mon guys i'm new at this. I've been in the constr. trade for years but i was asked to demo a brick wall and replace it with siding. I know what to charge for the build-out, Tyvek and the siding. I just need help on pricing the brick demo.

I must be wacked, but why would one tear-off off a brick veneer and replace it with siding? And, as far as estimating goes, doesn't anyone use the RSMEANS book or is that just old school?

Don't know if you are wacked or not however, you do ask a very interesting question. Hopefully the OP will enlighten us

The brick is being repossessed by the bank

Hey guys , I don't know why a person would want to rip down brick and put up siding either but i was asked to bid it that way so i am. I told him i have to build out walls to match the old brick pocket and the set out of the windows and vents which will cost probably more than just re-bricking the damn thing. The old brick has cracks everywhere and looks terrible. Needs foundation work before anything is done.

OK, if it's cracked up then that makes sense. Another possible alternative would be to fur the wall out and attach the siding, rather than demoing the brick (unless the brick is buckling off the wall).

The brick is buckling and the brick ties have come loose all over. I have attached furring strips a ton of times but in this case it's not an option because of the brick and because it does'nt have a soffit so the fascia is more like a freeze. It would be more work than it's worth.
Thank you for the advice.
