Winter is here and just got another trailer.

Well it is in the low 30's here in Indiana and I just got another trailer dropped off. I have a heat tube but wonder how the compressor, media and pot will act when that hot compressed air enters the cold pot. Whats your take on this?

You will be making a lot of water. You need a air cooler placed before your blast pot to cool the air down and to drop the water out of the system. Hot air holds more water than cold air. When the hot air is cooled down it is like taking a damp rag and ringing the water out of it. When the air cools, the water drops out. Look at a dessicant filter. What part of Indiana are you in? There is a very good supplier in Indy. I ran a coating project there at the track a few years back. The place is called IDS Blast. There number is (800) 800-0665. Ask for Dan. Tell him Benjy Abbott sent you. He can get you set up with what you need.

IDS is where I get my supplies. I am near Richmond right on I-70 so IDS is only 45 min away if that. I usually deal with Judy, I think she has been there for a long time. She was very patient and helpful with me when I was just starting out.

I dealt with them when we started the job up at the track a few years ago. I remember Judy being there. I Problay spent a hundred grand there during the course of the job. I have been dealing with Dan there on another job that I am looking at doing here in Alabama. I'm looking at my customer renting there dust collector and decon trailer from him for a lead removal job. But back to your subject, you will have a lot of moisture related problems if you do not cool the air and remove it before it goes to your blast pot. They can help you out.

Dan Ruark is correct. I could not think of his last name. Thanks, Plazaman.

I've heard that you can add extra hose from the compressor to your pot and make sure it is all touching the ground. The cold ground is supposed to help cool the air.
