What Media Are You Using????????

I hate to say it but I have been using silicia sand...I am using clemoc Apollo 60 helment with the clemco filter. I have just recently purchased some 3M dust maske that I will be wearing under the helmet. I am trying to protect my slef from silicosusus.

What products are you using and what prices are you paying pre pound for the stuff. I would love to try the starblast however I cant find it any where. The silica sand is cheap and easy to get.. It makes sence to use this if you ventilate correctly.

I am going to try coal slag tomorrow for a pool job.

Kill, even if you protect yourself during blasting, the airborne particles are still around that can harm you. Try very hard to locate a supplier for an alternative media.

I just paid .165 per lbs for coal slag, ordered 3000 lbs.

What would be good for sandblasting a cast iron tub to remove paint without leaving a shiny surface?

Granite chips. I live near a very large open face quarry and this media is a by-product for them. They package in 50 lbs. sacks.

Their main customer is poultry farmers.

Try Marco for Startblast. 1-800-Blast-It. They have multiple grits. We have ordered some sample pails (2gal) for sampling.

I was in Wisconsin this year they sold me black Jack or coal slag for 90$ a ton it was the best price because it did not to have drive for it. fuel is a big concern on profits
