Re: Walnut Shell
Using two different medias will give a different texture, but once stained it is not very noticeable. See if you can find a piece of wood that is the same species and play around with it. My only concern would be that the walnut would add more texture causing it to absorb more stain and therefore causing it to be darker. However, I've done several jobs like this using Sashco's Transformation stain and to my surprise, it did not cause shade variation. As for recycling, to avoid mixing walnut with glass, do everything with the walnut first and then switch over to glass once you are done with the walnut. I agree that sweeping and sifting would be a waste of your time, but if you have a helper that can recycle as you blast, it would save you money in the long run. Of course, there would be nothing wrong with doing the whole house with walnut shells.

Re: Walnut Shell
Crank I agree, I have painted house for a long time. If you was to go from a smooth board to ruff than yes it would be bad but if it a slight differance probable not.
as for the windows, they are aluminum, I have had good luck with boat haul tape (for shrink wrap) I may put that on first, then duct tape for extra protaction. PS: Betterblast does the pic of walnut shell that I posted early look like yours? Thanksfor the input everyone

Re: Walnut Shell
The first picture looks like a 20/40 mesh. The second looks more like a 40/60 mesh.
