Videos Or Pictures
Does anyone have any videos or pictures of themselves blasting stuff or of their equipment? I know there are some pics of guys setups on here, but few good shots of the pots and I don't think any videos. Maybe even some before and after shots and what you used on them. Anything would be good.

Re: Videos Or Pictures
Like I was told when I got into this. Fill the pot and pull the trigger.... If you are blasting metal, it is going to turn a white/silver in color. Pull the trigger and blast, make sure you have the proper safety equipment. Clemco or Bullard type air fed helmet, filter and line... Most of your questions have already been answered on here. Just search the net for pictures and vids, they are out there. You are going to have to spend some cash to get started, no body is going to give you the stuff. Watch ebay, that is were I got my schmidt 600# pot, 50' of blast hose, deadman and hose, air filters 150' of fresh air line, and the Apolo 60 helmet $1700.00 and a couple of hundred for them to bring it about 500 miles. The deals are out there, you just have to have the cash on hand to get them. Start saving and be ready!!!
Check out this web site of Chicago Mobile Sand blasting. The owner, Neil, is one hell of a guy. He sold me my Clemco 600# pot for $500.00. I had to go after it and got to meet him. He is very knowledgeable about this trade. I still call him with questions. Due to our distance I don’t hurt his business. http://www.mobilesandblasting.net/video.php Last edited by killzoneq2; 05-07-2008 at 01:10 AM. |

Re: Videos Or Pictures
Yeah, I've done it before. Between high school and college, I did it for a summer. The more equipment I look at, the more I realize what they had me working with was junk. I never had ANY experience with blasting before that and it wasn't pleasant until I figured things out. I remember opening up the outlet where the sand enters the hose (whatever that's called) and it was caked with wet sand. No wonder nothing was coming out!! As I've mentioned on other posts, I'm looking around and I'm not ready financially yet, but I've been looking just to see what deals are out there and I think I'm getting a feel for it. Thanks for the link.
